Looking for new places to take my child, in san antonio tx..?
San Antonio is awesome for parents, let me give you a few links that have really helped me and kept me in the 'know' of what's going on in and around San Antonio for the kiddos:
Some great places that are fantastic for kids are:
San Antonio Children's Museum - this is great for kids as young as 6 months to 10 years old. Lots to see and do. Admission is $7 per person, (2 and under are free) but it's completely worth it. The only downside is the parking issue, but if you go on Tuesdays as long as you find a metered spot downtown - it's free!
San Antonio Zoo - It's a tad bit expensive and the food inside is expensive too, but it's great. And sometimes on their website they have coupons for B1G1 admission free which is always a bonus. Plus kids 2 and under are free.
Brackenridge Park - It's a great place to go and tie it into the Zoo above. They're right next to each other. You can grab a loaf of bread and go feed the ducks, play on the playground and walk around the nature trails. So much fun.
The Train Depot - The train at Brackenridge Park/Zoo is great. It costs $3.25 per person (kids 3 and under are free) and it has pit stops at Witte Museum and Kiddie Park
Witte Museum - Has a huge area for the kids, very adventurous and you can enjoy the fun too with the museum. On Tuesdays from 3PM-8PM it is free admission for everyone!
Kiddie Park - It's down on Broadway close to Brackenridge Park and is a pit stop on the Train Depot train. It's fantastic. Closed at the moment because of winter, but it's a very small little amusement park that's been around since the 50's. It's very old fashioned but perfect for the kids.
Some of my favorite indoor places are:
Pee Wee Bees
Minitown (in between Hausman/DeZavala on I-10)
Funtastic Playland (Near Northstar Mall on San Pedro)
And below is one of my favorite websites that tells you SO much information. It's called "Little Daily Planner" gives you everything from kid friendly restaurants, to story times, to different classes, etc.. a really great website to check out.
